The company created a space for trainers to run curriculum courses virtually. Being less than 90 sqft in size, not much room was available to accommodate all of the equipment and two trainers (one on camera and the other running content). It was cramped, cumbersome, and didn't look great -- so they called me in to help.
The primary goals were to: A) make the space feel more open and inviting, B) make the space more usable/functional, and C) make the space look better on camera. A couple options were designed and discussed with stakeholders.
While I advocated having the desk corner fit flush into the corner of the room (~10% more usable space) I was informed that it was more important for the desk to face the presenter and wall-mounted TVs for monitoring and cross-communication purposes. So we landed on a mix of the two options.
